Mr. Warman,
Our office received a complaint regarding life safety and sanitary conditions at your property located at
29 Pleasant Street, these complaints have also been supported by concerns expressed by Salem Fire
Prevention officials. Upon further inspection of the exterior of the property it is also the concern of this
Department that work seems to be ongoing without the proper permitting through this office.
The most concerning off these violations that has been received are the life safety, egress and sanitary conditions at the
property, This failure to maintain a required means of egress violates section 116.1 through 116.3of the eighth edition
of the Mass Building Code with Mass amendments .Required Inspection must be conducted by our Department to assure
compliance with the State Building code and city ordinances.
Under the provisions of 780 CMR, Section 104.6–Right of Entry, of the State Building Code,access to this property
must be granted for the purposes of this inspection. Please call this office upon receipt of this letter, if this property has
rental units these tenants must be notified in advance o 'this inspection so that access to these spaces may also be
accomplished.
This Required Inspection shall be conducted by this office on Thursday,May 31, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.; failure to respond
to this notification will be construed as non- compliance,with issuance of Municipal tickets and as such an
Administrative Search Warrant will be sought, so as to allow the lawful inspection of this property. You are hereby
ordered to immediately contact our Department upon: receipt of this letter.
