Notices of the hearing were sent to abutters and others and notices of the hearing were properly published in the Salem Evening News in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A. At the request of the petitioner's Attorney William Quinn, the Salem Zoning Board of Appeal voted 5-0,to grant leave to withdraw this petition without prejudice requesting a Special Permit per Section 5-2 to allow construction of a third unit for the property located at 17 Pleasant Street located in an R-2 zone. One for an outside stair and the second to replace kitchen and bathroom fixtures. The permits were issued for a two family building. Recently, you added two more meters on the house with the designation of unit#3. It would appear you are in the process of adding a 3`d unit to your building. Per State Building Code 780 CMR, Section 104.1 and 115.6 an inspection of the building needs to be arranged with this Department within 10 days upon receipt of this letter.
