1. Conformance with Plan
an
Work shall conform to plan entitled "Proposed Wall Reconstruction at
Pickering Wharf" prepared by Raymond C. Pressey, Inc., dated September
1988, revised 1989."
Z. Conservation Commission
Work shall comply with all requirements of the Salem Conservation
Commission Order of Conditions #64-179.
3. Board of Health
Work shall comply with all requirements for the Board of Health approval
dated May 9, 1989.
4. Construction Practices
All construction shall be carried out in accordance with the following
conditions:
a. No work shall commence before 7:00 a.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on
Saturdays. No work shall continue beyond 5:00 p.m. There shall be no
work conducted on Sundays or holidays.
b. All reasonable action shall be taken to minimize the negative effects of
construction on abutters. Advance notice shall be provided to all
abutters in writing at least 72 hours prior to commencement of
construction.
5. Pedestrian Access
Applicant shall continue to provide pedestrian access to the waterfront
around the perimeter of Pickering Wharf.
6. Monitoring Devices
Applicant shall install monitoring devices to determine the structural
integrity of the remainder of the original seawall.
7. Lighting
Applicant shall provide adequate lighting on pedestrian accessways.
8. Violations
Violations of any conditions shall result in revocation of this permit by the
Planning Board.
This Special Permit shall not take effect until a copy of the decision bearing
certification of the City Clerk that twenty days have elapsed and no appeal has
been filed or that if such appeal has been filed and it has been dismissed or denied,
is recorded in the Essex County Registry of Deeds and is indexed under the name of
the owner of record or is recorded and noted on the owner's certificate of title.
The fee for recording or registering shall be paid by the owner or applicant.

Clerk and a copy is on file with the Planning Board.

Re: Pickering Wharf Seawall
On Thursday, January 3, 1991, the Salem Planning Board held a public hearing
under Section VII-R Site Plan Review Special Permit of the City of Salem Zoning
Ordinance for the repair and maintenance of the seawall at Pickering Wharf.
At a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Board held on February 7,
1991, the Board voted by a vote of five in favor, none opposed, to approve the
application as complying with the requirements of a Special Permit, subject to the
following conditions:
1. Conformance With Plan
Work shall conform with plan entitled "Plan for Seawall Repairs, Pickering
Wharf", dated November 27, 1990. In addition, wall shall not extend any further
seaward than the existing seawall.
2. Conservation Commission
Work shall comply with all requirements of the Salem Conservation Commission
Order of Conditions #64-194.
3. Board of Health
Work shall comply with all requirements of the Board of Health approval
dated January 16, 1991.
4. Construction Practices
All construction shall be performed in accordance with the Rules and
Regulations of the Planning Board, and in accordance with any and all
applicable City of Salem regulations.
5. Landscaping
Green area, including plantings, shall be returned to its original condition. If
this area is to be changed, it shall be reviewed and approved by the Planning
Board.
6. Violations
Any violations of these conditions shall result in revocation of this permit by
the Planning Board.
I hereby certify that a copy of this decision and plans have been filed with the
City Clerk and copies are on file with the Planning Board. The Special Permit shall
