OBSERVATIONS:
Pavement subgrade filling continued within proposed parking areas located within the Northeast project
limits. The material used is onsite generated soil generally consisting of F-C gravel and sand, little
silt. The material is a loamy urban fill and contains various materials including brick, concrete, ash,
slag, wood, metal, glass and organic silt. The material was screened to a 6" minus product removing
oversize particles. Controlled 12" thick lifts were placed and graded utilizing the Cat D6 bulldozer.
Each lift was compacted employing several passes of coverage utilizing the IR 10 ton drum roller. Due
to current moisture content, some minor yielding/weaving conditions were observed during densification.
The grades in this area were raised from approximate elevation 12.5 - 16'. This material was kept down
to a minimum depth of 4' below proposed finished grade due to the presence of organics/wood.
