This letter is a follow up to your original report on the above property on January
8, 2015 and violation #1487. To date, I am currently in the process of bringing the
items in question up to code.
I was previously directed to cease renting rooms. My prior tenants, Tony Lopes
(and his son, who he moved into the house without permission), was brought to
housing court on 2/25/15 and agreed to vacate the premises on February 27, 2015.
I am enclosing a copy of the court document and pictures of the empty room. (See
attached.) Another roommate, Roberto Barbereno, previously vacated the
premised 12/31/14. This leaves me with one roommate.
I have purchased and installed electric plate covers as requested in item 3 of your
report. (see pictures). My contractor is now in the process of renovating the
kitchen. Part of this renovation will include replacing the kitchen floor, which was
item 6 of your report.
Once the kitchen is complete, item 4, the hole in the hallway wall outside the
bedroom(s) will be patched (and pointed). Also, the living room will be addressed
for renovations and item 7, the molding/trim work, and item 9, the baseboard
covers will all be installed.

I apologize for any delay in completing the project, however, due to the
tremendous amount of snow this winter, it was extremely difficult to keep on
track.

Dear David:
This letter is a follow up to my response letter to you dated January 21, 2015.
Your original letter was from January 12, 2015, regarding your report on my
property at 2 Parlee Steet inspected on January 8, 2015.
In my response letter, I informed you that I was attempting to comply to three
violations listed, #3 - Electric plate covers, #4 - hole in hallway wall, and #9 -
baseboard covers. Unfortunately, due to the number of recent snow storms,
blizzards, and snow emergencies, I was unable to have my contractor complete
these items in the 14 day timeframe, as he has been doing snow removal. I am
requesting an extension on these three items. As soon as I have the above three
items completed, I will contact you to re-inspect the premises.
I am attempting to make every possible effort to complete all described items at
the earliest possible convenience. I have previously requested an extension on
items #6 - kitchen floor tiles, and #7 - molding/trim work.

On November 4h, I conducted an inspection of the upper floor.of you split level single family home . Your
tenant showed me locks on all three bedroom doors and showed me the door to the lower level where you
reside.The renting of rooms in the R-I zone is prohibited by Salem zoning and having four or more unrelated
individuals constitutes a rooming house under Mass General Law. In addition some obvious building code items
were observed
#I railing and guard missing along stairs and living room.#2 No smoke detectors or Carbon Monoxide detectors
were observed. #3 Rear porch,which constitutes a second means of egress, is missing.
You are directed to cease renting rooms immediately.You are further ordered to secure a building permit and

This letter is in response to your letter from January 12, 2015, and report on my
property at 2 Parlee Street inspected January 8, 2015. I received this
information via certified letter 7012 3050 0002 3313 3820 and signed for it on
Saturday, January 17, 2014.
As ordered, I have attempted to make a good-faith effort to correct the
violations listed on the enclosed inspection report, and will take all positive action
to prevent these violations from occurring again in the future. I have complied
with the following items;
1. Stove/refrigerator in Kitchen; Refrigerator has been installed & is running;
gas stove has been installed/reconnected as of today (gas permit pulled).
It will be inspected within the next few days.
2. Back porch; temporary stairs have been installed.
5. Smoke detectors/Carbon Monoxide alarms; These have been installed as
