This department approved a Building Permit application from a previous owner on 3/2/08 to remove the porch and replace it with diagonal braces but were never given the opportunity to inspect the work. No engineered drawings were submitted with the application. You are hereby ordered to have a Structural Engineer inspect the existing building, specifically the support members and connection detail at the exterior wall at the location of the former porch and to arrange with this office an inspection of the common areas of the building as required by 80 CMR Section 106 (State Building Code) This inspection and report must be completed on or before August 9,2010; failure to do so will be construed as violation of the State Building Code and will result in a criminal complaint at District Court. You have a right to appeal this order.to the State Board of Building Regulations and Standards in Boston.
