Dear Gerry:
As you know, I represent the new owners of One Salem Green who have
recently made a substantial investment in the City of Salem by the purchase of this
building. I think such an investment shows confidence in the City, and in the
manner in which municipal matters are handled by the various boards.
In connection with various improvements that the new owners are about
to make in the building, they have expressed a keen interest in the acquisition of
the arcel of land adjacent to One Salem Green which runs between One Salem
Green and pro er o e records indicates that
e Redevelopment Authority still as title to this parcel. We are interested in
acquiring title to the same at a fair price.
This would provide us with not only parking, but also provide for
expansion of some of the existing stores which now front on the inside of the
building to face the new oar inenoof-LL is e e ever municip use is
currently being made of the lot could probably be accommodated in some manner. In
some manner, the purchase by the new owners would not only result in adding this
parcel to the taxable property roles, but also would enable the new owners to
enhance the amenities that could be offered to prospective tenants.

Two items of importance:
1. Final resolution of tax matter for One Salem Green. I am being
bombarded daily by Martin Surkis.
2. At the SRA m ing to g �d� get authority to explore
the possibility or desirability of a acquisition by the ew ners of One Salem
Green of the parcel of land adja ent to One Salem Green. T is parcel is an
integral part of the plans of the ew owners to upgrade that/entire building.
Perhaps a procedure of valuation could be set into motion with you having the
authority to inquire and make recom endations.
Outside of the SRA matters, is there anything new on the feasibility of
the City acquiring additional space from the new owners of One Salem Green.
Copley Investments will now move agressively to fill that space, and it strikes me
that this is the ideal time to thoroughly explore the City's future interest in this
space.
