43 Church Street (The Lyceum): Discussion and vote on proposed signage,
exterior painting, new door, and window film
SRA Decision
At their meeting on August 12, 2009, the SRA voted to approve the July 22, 2009
DRB recommendation for the proposed signage, exterior painting, new door, and
window film at 43 Church Street, and voted to approve the proposed window
lettering and exterior lights subject to DRB review and approval.
DRB Recommendation
At their meeting on July 22, 2009, the DRB voted to recommend approval of the
proposed signage, exterior painting, new door, and window film at 90 Lafayette
Street with the following conditions:
- The alternative sign design and door design shall be used;
- The sign bracket shall be reversed;
- The bottom rail of the door shall be a minimum of 7.5 inches wide; and
- The exterior paint on the window trim and frames shall be the existing
color.
Staff Comment
The proposal has been revised to incorporate the DRB's conditions.
The applicant has subsequently asked to include window lettering and exterior
lights. The SRA may choose to approve these additional elements pending DRB
review and approval.
Proposal
The revised proposal includes a new blade sign, repainting the trim, and a new
door. The blade sign is a plate cover and is approximately 22" by 42". The sign
complies with City and SRA guidelines. A 3M film is proposed for the lower
portion of the windows.
