We have two entrances, one out to Washington St., the second out to the Town Hall Square Pedestrian Mall. The signs are black metal frame on white metal board. Black lettering indicates some of our offerings. The sign out front is located on the curb/plant area within 10 feet of our entrance & clear of all pedestrian walkways. The sign out back is at the end of the alley behind our building & also clear of all pedestrian walkways. The other businesses in the building are a Pawn Shop & Law Offices. Our signs in no way disturb their entrance or exit from the building. DRB Recommendation At their meeting on April 15, 2009, the DRB voted to recommend approval of the proposed signage and outdoor cafe permit at 133 Washington Street with the following conditions: - The sign proposal will be modified to comply with sign area requirements. The revision will be reviewed and approved by the DRB prior to the SRA meeting. - A trash receptacle will be placed inside the alcove to the building. - A different chair will be reviewed and approved by the DRB prior to the SRA meeting. Staff Comment The applicant has modified the proposal to conform to the DRB recommendation. Proposal The revised proposed signage consists of one window decal. The decal is red with a clear background. The square footage of the sign complies with City and SRA guidelines. The outdoor seating proposal consists of three tables and six chairs. The tables and chairs would be black metal, and a trash can will be placed by the entrance in the alcove.
