DECISION:
At their meeting on June 14, 2006, the SRA voted to approve the signage and
window boxes as recommended by the DRB.
RECOMMENDATION:
At their meeting on May 24, 2006, the DRB recommended approval of the proposed
sign proposal and window boxes with the following conditions:
• The sign on the door should not have the oval background;
• The spacing of the signage on the doors and windows be reduced in size
to allow for 3 inch spacing on the edges;
• The window boxes should be painted brown, like the brown in the
signage, and have a 90 degree corner as opposed to the proposed fin
edge.
The proposal submitted to the SRA reflects these changes.
PROPOSAL:
The proposal includes the installation of one hanging sign and window graphics as
well as two window boxes.
The proposed signage is as follows:
• One 20" x 36" '/z" MDO hanging sign on existing bracket. The sign will be a
beige background with brown lettering and oracal green, antic blue and sky blue
graphics;
• The vinyl letter will be oracal green measuring 6" in height and the logo will
measure 8.5" x 22" placed on the door.
The window boxes will be wood boxes measuring approximately 24"W x 6"H x 7"D
and painted brown to match the color in the logo. The boxes will be mounted with
brackets attached to the wood paneling on the storefront. The boxes will be similar
to the Salem Main Street standard approved by the DRB in years past.
