Address: 29 Bridge Street
Building Frontage: 148 linear feet on Merrill Street, 20 linear feet on Bridge Street
Maximum allowed: 148 sq ft on Merrill Street, 20 sq ft on Bridge Street
Signage: Two wall signs fronting Merrill St:one 19 sq ft wall sign consisting of
black painted letters directly to the building spelling"BAY BRIDGE"
and beneath that a white painted metal sign with Blue letters spelling
out"RESTAURANT&NIGHT CLUB". The other wall sign is the same
but occupies 39.7 sq ft and is located over the main entrance closer
to Waite Street.
Total area of Sign: 58.7 square feet on Merrill Street
Comments: The two black painted signs where permitted in 6/17/98, however the
white metal signs located directly beneath are recent additions. With the
addition to the white metal signs, the total square footage of the existing
wall signs meet the Entrance Corridor requirements.

Thank you for your application for a City of Salem Sign Permit dated April 29,2004. The
application you submitted is currently incomplete and therefore we cannot process your
permit,at this time. Please submit the following so that we can move ahead with processing
your permit:
• A photograph of the site showing the entire freestanding sign Ath the square footage
of each signanellt, an, d the height of the entire freestanding sign.

does not comply with the City of Salem Sign Ordinance with regards to the Entrance
Corridor Overlay District due to the following reason:
�rp • A freestanding sign,provided that such sign has not more than two faces and if there
J are one or two use on the lot, the area of each face does not exceed five 32.5 square
feet and the top of such sign is no higher than 25 feet above grade. Your signs total
nearly 65 sq ft for each face, and the height has not been determined yet.
If we do not receive a revised application from you within 30 days or receive written
notification requesting additional time, your application will be closed and you will be
required to resubmit prior to installing your sign.
