Dear Ms. Bersani;
This office has reviewed the situation regarding the deck that was built at 182
North Street. As this structure was built without the benefit of a Permit, a matter that has
since been rectified, there was no inspection as to the depth of the footings, or the soil
conditions. We have concluded that even in the absence of this information, the nature
and use of this deck would not compromise the adjoining structures, and as this structure
could not be altered in use or size, that the existing footing can be safely allowed, and this
permit can be signed off as completed.
Thank you for your help in sorting out this situation, and correcting the lack of
Permitting. If you have any further questions please contact Mr. McGrath in this office.

The above referenced property has come to the attention of this department for the
following reason(s):
Police Report forwarded to this office regarding substandard conditions,
possible use of uninhabitable areas being used for sleeping areas, and
questionable number of tenants. This inspection will be conducted by a team
which will include Fire,Health, and Building Officials.
Under the provisions of 780 CMR, Section 115.6, State Building Code, access to
this property must be granted for the purposes of inspection. Please call this office upon
receipt of this letter to schedule this required inspection. If this property has rental units,
these tenants must be notified in advance of this inspection, so that access to these spaces
may also be accomplished.
This inspection must be completed on or before July 21, 2006; failure to respond
to this notification will be construed as non-compliance, and as such an Administrative
Search Warrant will be sought, so as to allow the lawful inspection of this property.
