Dear Chief Turner:
On December 12 , 1995 , I forwarded some material
concerning the above mentioned project for your review. I
also requested that you, in writing, give me a specific
reason why you will not perform said inspections . Until
this date I have received nothing concerning the reason
these inspections are not being made.
It is in the best interest of our Public Safety
Department that we work together to provide and promote
the health, safety, morals or welfare of the inhabitants
of Salem. And it is also our duties to enforce the State
Building Codes as they are written, or until they are
changed through amendments per our legal process .
This department will again issue an occupancy permit
for 7 Mariners Way, without a sign off from your
department per Article 113 . 5 of the 780 CMR State Building
Code.
This office is willing to meet with you and your Fire
Prevention officers at any time to discuss this issue as
well as any other issue that might be of concern. Please
call to make an appointment at your convenience.
