Dear Mr. Powers,
Per our telephone conversation this morning, I appreciate the effort you have
put into correcting this serious problem. Mr. P. Folsberg, of 11 Lynn Street, Salem
has alchimmney on his home, that is in bad condition. I have spoken, to him and
also his son, who is a contractor, and have stressed the need that this be talon
care of. Up to this date, nothing has been done . When they light especially their
fireplace, the mortor, keeps coming out of the bricks, and both cars, in my yard,
have particles, of bricks, all over them. This is also very dangerous, for the
children who play in the yard. I do not want to have at any given time, my cars,
destroyed, because of the inconsideration of my neighbor Mr. Phil Folsberg, who
has not even tryed to correct this problem. I also feel that the Salem Fire Dept.
should check this problem.
As you have observed, Mr. Powers, my property goes right to the back, I would
appreciate some action, be taken before something, serious occurrs,
You may reach me at my home after 1:30 P. M. daily my number is 745-1573 or my
office phone, 777-1900 Ext. 3745 . Thank you once again. i&

Dear Sir,
Per our telephone conversation this afternoon, in regards to the
Chimmey Problem which is a terrible (Fire Hazard) at 11 Lynn Street,
the owners name is Mr. Philip E. Forsberg Jr. I wish to thank you for
your time and effort that you have put into tracking Mr. r'orsberg down.
I:aA well aware of this homeowners promises, because they never hold water.
This problem is not a new one because I have spoken to him last year about
his chimmey, and his son as you well know is a mason contractor, and both
of them promised me last year that it would be taken care of. I ask that
they at least let me know a day in advance when they would make the much
needed and necessary repairs to this chimmey. Daily, bricks and motar and
rocks fall from the roof, and as you saw for yourself, it is bad. Not
only is my property being in danger, but, the cars are being scratched and
every day, we find this problem, we also have children to consider. Rocks
falling could injury, and I do not want this condition to continue.
Mr. Forsberg, has said in the near-future, yet no date was given to your office.
He is great for stalling, also, the reason I am writing this letter to your
office, and I want to state that a copy of this letter is being sent to the
Chief of the Fire Department.
As of this date, April 25, 1979, the Chimmey at 11 Lynn Street is a Fire Hazard,
and if this condition is allowed, then, upon, damages or fire, to my property,
and belongs, at 13 Lynn Street, I will not only hold, the homeowner, Mr. P. Forsberg,
liable, but I will also hold the City of Salem liable
for
services. !1 yqur
