Mr. William H. Munroe
Zoning Enforcement Officer
Otte Salem Green
Salem, MA 01970
Dear Mr. Munroe:
Pursuant to City of Salem Code of Ordinances, Section 26-5,
please be advised that the street address of 600 Loring
Avenue used by Village Realty Trust for the new building it
is constructing opposite Vinnin Street has not been approved
by the Board of Assessors. The correct address for the newly
created parcel is 570 Loring Avenue (Assessors' Parcel
#21-0004).
As indicated in the enclosed copy of a letter to Village
Realty Trust, the use of 600 Loring Avenue is of public
safety concern, in that it creates non-sequential numbering
of buildings at that location.
Very Y Yours,
C _V_f

Mark Klaman Trustee
568 Loring Avenue
Salem, Ma. 01970
Dear Mr. Klaman:
It has recently come to the Board's attention that the new shopping mall
being built at the rear of 568 Loring Avenue will be using the street
address of 600 Loring Avenue. This building is being constructed on a
recently created parcel fronting on both Loring Hills Avenue and Loring
Avenue.
Under City ordinance, the Board of Assessors has sole responsibility for
assigning street addresses in the city. As this is a new parcel , use of a
street number should have received prior approval by this office.
This situation is particularly sensitive due to public safety concerns
raised by the City's Fire Prevention Bureau. As you are aware, a child
care facility is located beyond your new building. However, this property's
address is 572 Loring Avenue, an address which has been established for a
number of years. In the case of an emergency situation, valuable time
could be lost by responding personnel in trying to locate the child-care
facility because of the non-sequential numbering.
As a result of these concerns, the Board has assigned the street address of
570 Loring Avenue to the new parcel until such time as a solution satisfac-
tory to all involved parties can be arrived at.
Very truly yours,
Peter M. Caron

Dear Mr. -Bellettini:
We have received your letter dated January 17, 1985 and data concerning
your planned drycleaning operation in the Vinnin Square Shopping Center,
currently under construction at 600 Loring Avenue in Salem.
It should be clearly understood that if a sursurface individual sewage
disposal system is to be installed, site owner must employ a registered
engineer for soil, groundwater and percolation tests, observed by this
department.
If a common sanitary sewer is accessible adjoining this property, it is
required that site owner must connect with the common sanitary sewer and
this information may be provided by the City Engineering Department.
Very truly yours,
