RE: Salem Marketplace
The Salem Marketplace is currently under renovation and beautification. There is a need
to lighten up the motif and give the space a fresher feel. It is the desire of the Market&
Tourist Commission to change this feeling into that of a little village.
The Commission proposes to do this by painting the market stalls. The selected colors are
based on the Benjamin Moore and Ralph Lauren historical color selection. The color
selection for the roofs of the stall will be changed from the current color of red to Billiard
Green. The color green on the market stall roofs will enhance the focal point of Old
Town Hall.
The next page offers the suggested colors that the Commission has chosen. There are a
total of four colors to be used on each stall. All stalls will be painted the same colors with
the exception of the doors. Two colors were chosen. The doors will be painted in an
alternate pattern.
The City of Salem is currently accepting bids to recondition the existing metal roofs and
portion of sidewalls on the 6 market stalls. Reconditioning will consist of pressure
washing,priming and two top coats of elastomeric roof coating.No change will be made
to the roof.
Five wood double door sets were ordered for the stalls_ at the marketplace. The doors are
similar to the existing doors.
