parapet facing New Derby street.
Dear Mr. Delande,
As per your request, this date, Ihave examined the above
entire roof parapet. This parapet, which ranges in height from
- • - -5 ' -612'' is in dancer of immediate collapse. You should make
immediate arrangements to remove this parapetdown to the first
course of masonry above the roof. This masonry is approximately
8" above the existing roof. The new cap . should be a minimum of
6" thick and 16 " wide, made of 30001b concrete reinforced with
4 x 4 '#8 wire top and bottom. The four corners of the cap shall
have continuous 44 rods with a minimum cover of 1;" concrete.
The concrete cap should be poured continuously and anchored to
the existing wall with 5/8" round anchor bolts , 14"long- at 6 '
on center. The capshould be waterproofed on both sides and top.
