Dear Design Review Board,
On behalf of the City Square Condominium Association please accept the following
materials for project consideration at the March 26`h Design Review Board meeting. We
have been working closely with the Department of Planning and Community
Development with the goal of obtaining a storefront improvement grant and appreciate
your assistance in this matter.
Please also use this document as a letter of permission from the property owner -- the
City Square Condominium Association of which I am a Trustee.
The proposal is for a complete restoration of the building fagade at 304 Essex Street.
This restoration is needed to address the current issues of crumbling window lintels as
well as the need for general repair and improved aesthetics. There is no proposed
variance in the land use from the current storefront which is occupied by Liberty Tax.
The proposed timeline is as soon as possible, weather permitting. I have been in close
contact with Roger A. Tremblay Contractors and they are ready to begin repairs as soon
as the storefront improvement grant is approved. Safety scaffolding is currently in place
to protect pedestrians so any assistance in moving the project approval along quickly is
greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Ry W. Hawkins
