SRA Decision
At their meeting on July 9, 2008, the SRA voted to approve the June 25, 2008
DRB recommendation for the proposed signage at 186 Essex Street, Unit 3.
DRB Recommendation
At their meeting on June 25, 2008, the DRB voted to recommend approval of the
proposed signage at 186 Washington Street, Unit 3 with the following conditions:
• The sign shall be one foot wider;
• The sign height shall be consistent with signs on the adjacent awnings;
• A 1 inch wide white boarder be added to the sign
• The text of the window decal be consolidated to one window, as shown in
the original design; and
• The 20% limit on window coverage be waived.
Staff Comment
The proposal has been revised to be consistent with the DRB's conditions.
Proposal

by 72" and would be black with gold lettering on PVC. The sign would be placed
in the existing sign band. The sign's square footage complies with City and SRA
guidelines. The window decals are 16" by 60" and 8" by 30". The decals would be
made of white vinyl. The area of each decal is less than 20 percent of the window
glass area and complies with City and SRA guidelines.
