Dear Ellen:
The Salem Housing Authority is respectfully requesting permission from the Salem
Redevelopment Authority to erect a sign at our office located on 27 Charter Street.
The sign will be placed in the ground at the existing flag pole area. Particular specifications
for the sign I know have been hand delivered to you by the sign vendor. I trust you will find
them to be comprehensive.
Since the office was remodeled in 1987 it has been very difficult for the general public to
find the office entrance. The building is a residential building and therefore most people
attempt to come to the office by entering the main doors which is for tenants only.
We have put signs on doors and windows but still the public does not find the office entrance
without assistance. r
Since the first floor of the building is office space, there is really no elevation appropriate for
a sign on the building. By placing a sign at ground level, which can be seen from the street,
we feel will serve to adequately direct people to the office with ease.
The sign has been tastefully designed and I feel that it will not only-enhance the esthetics of
our development but also that of the neighborhood as well. _-
Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Should you require further informal'on, (
please feel free to contact my office.
