32 CHURCH STREET- (MILK & HONEY) FACADE PROJECT, SINAGE, EXTERIOR DOOR 32 Church Street (Milk & Honey) Fagade project, signage, exterior door Salem Redevelopment Authority Decision July 13, 2011 32 Church Street (milk and honey): Discussion and vote on proposed facade project SRA Decision At their meeting on July 13, 2011, the SRA voted to approve the June 22, 2011, DRB recommendation for the proposed fagade project at 32 Church Street for milk and honey. DRB Recommendation At their meeting on June 22, 2011 , the DRB voted to recommend approval of the proposed fapade project at 32 Church Street for milk and honey with the following conditions: - The conduit shall be concealed; - The ends of the awning shall be open; - The furniture selection shall be reviewed and approved by David Jaquith prior to the SRA meeting; and - The spacing between "milk and honey" and "green grocer" shall be decreased in the sign. Staff Comment The applicant has modified the proposal to conform to the DRB conditions. The revised submission is dated June 30, 2011, and includes plans and photos. Proposal for June 22 DRB Meeting The submission, dated June 10, 2011 , includes plans, photos, and cut sheets. The proposal consists of two phases of improvements. In the first phase, a directional bullet light would be added to the existing blade sign, two new gooseneck lights would be installed on the wall, two wrought iron wall planters would be installed, and a new wall mounted sign would be added to the left of the entrance. In the second phase, the existing sign would be repainted to match the new wall sign, a new fabric awning would be installed, and a fold-down table would be mounted below the windows. The new signage complies with City and SRA guidelines. July 15, 2010 Dear Salem Design Board, I am a new business owner opening a specialty grocery store at 32 Church Street in downtown Salem. Enclosed you will find my completed sign application. I am including some additional information about the sign and door design to help you understand the overall look and feel. Sign There will be no raised areas on the sign. The graphics will be applied using vinyl. The bee and cow will be applied by hand with some additional airbrushing techniques. The main pantone colors are light green 382c and dark green 378c. New exterior door Please see included manufacturers spec sheet.The new exterior door will be made of fir. It will have Y4 inch tempered insulated glass with solid bar divided lights with 15 lights.
