11 Church Street (The Essex Condominium): Discussion and vote on proposed
exterior soffit replacement
SRA Decision
At its meeting on October 9, 2013, the SRA voted to unanimously approve the
September 24, 2013 DRB recommendation for the replacement of exterior soffit
along and under the roofline of 11 Church Street (The Essex Condominium).
The replacement material will be white PVC. This approval pertains to the work
described in the scope of work dated September 11, 2013 and included in the
proposal. The following condition applies:
• The replacement must look in essence the same as the existing soffit
currently appears.
Design Review Board Recommendation

General Description:
SPS, Inc.will provide the necessary supervision, labor,and materials to perform the work specified in this PFS in a
workmanlike manner and in compliance with applicable laws and codes. The pricing provided in this PFS
encompasses, in general,the following Scope of Work:
Exterior soffit replacement at The Essex Condominium in Salem,Massachusetts.
At the north elevation of I 1 Church Street(street elevation)and the south elevation of the Essex
Street building(street elevation), SPS will perform the following work:
Remove existing wood soffit and mouldings as required and replace in kind with new white PVC
using a hidden fastener system.
Replace all dormer rake board, fascia boards and soffit with Versatexc PVC trim boards using
Cortex, a hidden fastener system.
Included Areas: Areas marked with an"x"are to be included in the specified work to be done:

On May 28, 2003, the Design Review Board gave a positive recommendation for a proposed
window replacement project at 11 Church Street The proposal includes the installation of
new operable window units at five locations facing the interior courtyard of the budding.
The new windows would consist of double hung aluminum windows approximately 4'-9"
wide by 4'-10" high.
The Design Review Board gave a positive recommendation of the proposal as submitted.
