211 Bridge Street (The First Universalist Society): Discussion and vote on
proposed replacement of basement level windows
SRA Decision
At its meeting on March 12, 2014, the SRA voted 3-0 to approve an October 23,
2013 DRB recommendation to approve a proposal to replace eight basement
level windows at 211 Bridge Street (First Universalist Society).
DRB Recommendation
At its meeting on October 23, 2013 the DRB voted unanimously to approve the
proposal to replace eight basement level windows at 211 Bridge Street (First
Universalist Society) on the condition that the applicant work with DRB Member
Helen Sides to confirm and approve all specifications of the new windows.
Staff Comment
The applicant worked with DRB Member Helen Sides to identify an appropriate
window to be used in the proposed replacement. The applicant proposes to use a
"Brosco Natural Pine" window and also install "Harvey True Channel Triple Track
Storm and Screen" units.
Proposal for October 23, 2013 DRB Meeting
The applicant seeks to replace eight (8) street level windows facing Bridge and Rust
Streets, which are in disrepair and covered with plexiglass. The enclosed packet
includes a scope of proposal, pictures of current conditions, and two proposed
windows (one vinyl; the other wood). Both proposals call for the replacement
windows to resemble exactly the style and appearance of the windows that are
currently there (minus the plexiglass, which is proposed to be removed altogether).
