As always, my City Council meeting conflicts with your Conservation Commission meeting schedule. I am concerned about Mr. Green ' s proposed decks and dock and would hope that the following questions would be answered during your public hearing. 1. Why does the project run parallel to Lafayette Street . All the other docks in the area go straight out toward the harbor entrance in what is considered deeper water. Also who owns the mud flats that the float will cover? Is it Boston & Maine? Did Mr. Green ' s engineer take into consider- ation the Northeast storms ths.t whip into this particular area. 2. What harm, if any, will this structure cause to the wetland vegetation near the sea wall? 3. Can Mr. Green explain the structual support (wood, cement , or any fill) that may be used now or in the future for his project . 4. The expansion from the gazebo to the end of the float is close to 90 ft . Will this have an adverse effect on other boats and water skiers that utilize this area? There are many residents from Mr. Green ' s area of Lafayette Street that have concerns about this project . I hope these questions can be addressed to relieve the residents of their concerns. Finally, I hope the Conservation Commission will do an on-site visit at the proposed location. I request that the above concerns be discussed and documented into the minutes of your April 14 , 1988 meeting. Yours truly, Mark E.
