Conservation Commission make a determination as to whether the area.described below, or work to
be performed on said area,also described below.is subject to the jurisdiction of the Wetlands
Protection Act,G.L c. 131, §40.

To extend current patio/deck as shown on attached Figure 1
an additional 16 ft along the rear of the house and to alter/

work is to be done,or any ten residents of the city or town in which such land is located,are hereby notified of their right to request the
Department of Environmental Clualily Engineering to issue a Superseding Determination of Applicability,providing the request is made
by certified mail or hand delivery to the Department within ten days from the date of issuance of this Determination.A copy of the reque
shall at the same time be sent by certified mail or hand delivery to the Conservation Commission and the applicant.

Conditions
1) All work shall conform to the plan submitted to the Commission on
September 14, 1989.
2) The deck shall be constructed of pressure-treated wood having no
chemical coating, as per plan.
3) Footings shall consist of concrete and shall be raised above
ground.
4) Excavation shall be limited to footing areas.
5) Any vegetation shall be planted outside the buffer zone.
6) All construction debris shall be disposed of in the proper manner
outside the buffer zone

On Thursday, September 14, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. , the Salem
Conservation Commission will make a determination of the significance of
the Wetlands Protection Act, Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 131,
Section 40, for a proposal by A. Zarkades, 4 Buchanan Road, Salem, Ma. ,
to extend current patio/deck an additional 16 ft . along rear of the
house and to alter/replace current double hung window with a 5' x 6' 8"
patio door. A portion of the proposed work is located in the Wetland
buffer zone. The meeting will be held at One Salem Green, second floor
conference room.
