Dear Ms.Mahoney:
This office has received a complaint concerning the chimney at 22
Lemon Street. On August 20, 1993 I conducted an inspection and found the
chimney to be in hazadous condition and must be removed at once under
Artical 123. 1 of the Massachusette State Building Code. Failure to do
so will lead to Legal action being taken against you.
On April 5, 1993 I also sent a letter to you concerning other repairs
needing attention. (Letter Enclosed) . I believe you have had a suffacient
amount of time to have at least started some of these repairs and I see no
progress. These are also code violations and must be attended to within
( 15) days. Please contact this office upon receipt of this letter to
inform us of your course of action.

site inspection was made and the following items were found to be in need of
immediate repair:
1 . The base of the front porch is in a hazardous condition and presents
a danger to the safety and welfare of the public. The front porch
and rails must be fixed immediately.
2. Fascia and soffit boards should be replaced at roof of porch.
Please contact this office within ten (10) days of receipt of this notice
in order to inform us of your course of action.

Dear Mr. Tremblay,
I telephoned your office today and was informed that you
are on vacation until April 28. I am writing in re: your letter of
April 5, concerning the above property. I have been unable to speak
with the co-owner, Susan Small, because she is currently in'-another
part of the state.
I realize that the porch needs to be repair d and will
attend to it as soon as possible. I also apologize fol is appearance
an& for any distress that it may have caused my neighbors.I have owned
the house for 12 years, but in the past three have had a difficult
time with the necessary upkeep. I have struggled financially since
getting my Master's degree in 1990, and cosmetically the house shows t
this.
The porch was hit by a car and further vandalized by some
youths. The insurance company stopped insuring houses in Massachusetts
while the claim was pending, so that I must pay for the repairs. I will
repair the porch as soon as possible.
