TYLER II NOAH'S HILL, ADDISON STREET ESSEX, MA 01929 August 5, 1993 Mayor Neil Harrington 93 Washington Street Salem, MA 01970 Dear Mayor Harrington: Enclosed is a photograph of the two-family house at 21 Lemon Street. I am in the unfortunate position of owning a house across the street from this blight. I am angry and frustrated by the disruptive first floor tenants, the disturbances they and their friends create, and the drugs which they sell openly from their doorstep. The absentee landlord and the tenants are making a mockery of the police department, code enforcement, and most importantly the neighbors who have to endure this situation. I am asking for your help to eradicate the drug dealers from this house and to enlist the support of the Building Inspector to investigate this house for code violations. The City of Salem with its rich and exciting history and emerging tourist industry can ill afford to have absentee landlords insult the integrity of its neighborhoods. Many thanks for your help in this matter. I will continue to work with the City and my neighbors to see this situation resolved. Sincerely, FIN 97 Tf Roger B.
