RE: 19 Lemon Street
Dear Mr. Blenkhorn,
This office has inspected the property located at 19 Lemon Street
for compliance with the General Laws of the Commonwealth, specifically
Section 624.4 of the Massachusetts State Building Code as it pertains
to emergency lighting. This section requires that emergency lighting
from an independent power source SHALL be provided in all multi-family
dwellings containing four (4) or more dwelling units. Due to the
absence of a fire wall this building would fall within the require-
ments of the Code Section.
In view of the excessive length of time that the property owner
has allowed to lapse since first notification of this violation
I feel it is appropriate that the Health Department must take the
necessary action through the court to rectify this flagrant
disregard for the laws of the Commonwealth.
