Plans describing the work proposed, have been submitted to the Inspector or Buildings ; n accordance with Section IX A. 1 of the Zoning Ordinance. Plans describe three story porch and stairs to be added at the front of the house after removal of existing one story porch and its roof. Purpose of new porch and stairs is to provide second egress required to qualify what is now essentially in-law quarters to be allowed for use as a separate third apartment. r m The Application for Permit was denied by the Inspector of Buildings for the SEAT reasons: 0; r om T i Area is zoned for two family dwellings. ,!. - v The Undersigned hereby petitions the Board of Appeals to vary the terms of the Salem Zoning Ordinance and/or the Building Code and order the Inspector of Buildings to approve the application fee permit to build as filed, as the enforcement of said Zoning By-Laws and Building Code would involve practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship to the Undersigned and relief may be granted without substantially dero- gating from the intent and purpose of the Zoning Ordinance and Building Code for the following reasons: The street and area have a high proportion of dwellings of three or more units. More than half of the nearest dwellings, either adjacent, opposite, or diagonally opposite or behind, have three or more units. The use of this house as three units would not change the character of the neighborhood. Offstreet parking for six cars provides two directly accessible spaces for each of three units. Care was taken to avoid reducing previously available street parking w en dev g t sib offst spaces. y Owner. Fylde-tL 4N1 Address.). ... . . . . . . . . . . ..
