Dear Mr. and Mrs. Camire;
The above listed property has been found to be in violation of the following State Codes
and/or City Ordinances:
780 CMR, State Building Code, Section 118, states that no structure can be
built, altered, or added to without first obtaining a Building Permit.
Code of Ordinances, City of Salem, Section 38—62, states that no parking area
to accommodate more than two cars may be created without first obtaining a
permit by submitting a plan to the Building Inspector and the Department of
Public works to determine compliance with curb, drainage, and entry and exit
standards.
Under the provisions of 780 CMR, State Building Code, Section 106, 1 am
requiring an Inspection of these Premises to ensure compliance with the Code.
Said violations must begin to be corrected, repaired, and/or brought into compliance
within 2 days of your receipt of this notice. Failure to do so may result in further actions
being brought against you, up to and including the filing of complaints at District Court.

Dear Thomas and Kathleen Camire:
Complaints have been received relative to pungent odors of burning of treated wood at your property using a
wood stove in the garage.
An on-site inspection noted a vent stack on the roof of the 4 car garage. There was no odor at that time.
Please be advised that burning of treated woad can create nusiance conditions in accordance with Mass.
General Laws, Chapter 122 and in accordance with Department of Environmental Quality, Mass. Environmental
Regulations 310 CMR 7.09 "no person shall cause, suffer, allow or permit the handling, transportation or storage
of any material in a manner that results or may result in emissions therefrom which cause or contribute to a
condition of air pollution".
There are two boats being stored on the property.
By copy of this letter, we are requesting the evaluation and determination.from the Fire Prevention Department
regarding permits for both the woodburning stove and storage of boats.
