This is violation of the 780 CMR Massachusetts State Building Code, Section 107.6.3. All Work Must Cease and Desist immediately. You are hereby directed to contact this office immediately upon receipt of this notice, No further work may be done until such time as the order is lifted. Any person who shall continue any work in or about the building or structure after having been served with a Stop Work Order, except such work as that person is directed to perform. To remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be liable to a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or both for each violation; with each day constituting a separate violation. This construction work must cease and desist immediately, additionally your building is a permitted two (2) -unit building in an R2 zoning district. For this reason an inspection must be conducted by our office to assure compliance with the code and city ordinance. A Required Inspection must be conducted by our Department to assure compliance with the State Building code and city ordinances. Under the provisions of 780 CMR, Section 104.6—Right of Entry, of the State Building Code, access to this property must be granted for the purposes of this inspection. Please call this office upon receipt of this letter, if this property has rental units these tenants must be notified in advance of this inspection so that access to these spaces may also be accomplished. This Required Inspection shall be conducted by this office on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.;failure to respond to this notification will be construed as non-compliance,with issuance of Municipal tickets and as such an Administrative Search Warrant will be sought, so as to allow the lawful inspection of this property. If you feel you are aggrieved by my zoning interpretation,your Appeal is to the Salem Zoning Board of Appeals. If you feel you are aggrieved by the Building code sections, your Appeal is to the Board of Buildings, Regulations and Standards in Boston.
