It has been in an unsafe condition for three months which is un-acceptable. You are directed to secure a Building Permit and begin work immediately. Failure to begin work within seven days of this notice will result in a complaint being filed in District Court. The lack of a second means of egress may also result in the revocation of the Occupancy Permit for this unit. If you have any questions ,contact me immediately. The porches are failing badly, are unsafe and need to be replaced immediately. A licensed Construction Supervisor must secure the building permit. As I stated in the previous letter, the porches need to replaced immediately. I received a message that you were waiting for Insurance from your abutter's property to begin repairs. This is not acceptable that a required means of egress is not available to your tenants. You should have made a claim to your own Insurance company to repair your rental property. It is your Insurance Companies'job to repair your building and pursue the claim against the other property owner. As stated previously, a building permit must be secured and work begun immediately. Failure to address this issue will result in Municipal tickets and further enforcement actions.
