The property was sold by authorization of the Salem City Council for the sum of $500.00. In addition, Mr. & Mrs. Malewicki have paid the sum of $19.84 in lieu of taxes for the year 1973 in compliance with Massachusetts General Laws , Chapter 44, Section 63A. In accordance with a request from your office for all available data with regard to a proposal of Richard Malewicki to purchase a por- tion of one of the lots on Larkin Lane set aside for World War II veterans , we are enclosing copies of all records we have . It is the understanding of this office that when these lots were originally set aside for the veterans , a clause was inserted that there would be one lot only allowed for each in order to insure that as many veterans as possible could avail themselves of the opportunity to pur- chase land to provide adequate areas for comfortable living.
