Zoladz P.E. EQUIPMENT OPERATING: DESCRIPTION OF TODAY'S WORK: The GSI representative visited the site today to observe the subgrade soils for the elevator pit. A photo of the prepared subgrade is attached. The subgrade soils observed consisted of firm stable natural orange/brown fine SAND and SILT with some clay. The soils are suitable for support of the planned foundation elements. Based on the observed conditions and discussions with Mr. Pydnkowski standing groundwater is approximately 4-in. above the prepared subgrade. For waterproofing design for the elevator pit, GSI recommends the design groundwater elevation be 18-in. above the elevator pit foundation subgrade. Foundation design recommendations provided in the Geotechnical Investigation Report for this project dated September 17, 2019 apply to the design for the elevator pit foundation elements.
