drawings.Existing foundation is being underpinned at the perimeter, under 2 bearing lines and at the
fireplaces. The work is being observed by the geotech engineer on a regular basis. See attached reports

The GSI representative visited the site today to observe the subgrade soils for the underpinning work within the original
building. Photos underpinning areas are attached. The subgrade soils observed consisted of firm stable natural
orange/brown fine to medium SAND and is suitable for support of the planned underpinning elements. The attached field
sketches show the approximate locations of the underpinning areas observed today.

DESCRIPTION OF TODAY'S WORK:
The GSI representative visited the site today to observe the subgrade soils for the elevator pit. A photo of the prepared
subgrade is attached. The subgrade soils observed consisted of firm stable natural orange/brown fine SAND and SILT with
some clay. The soils are suitable for support of the planned foundation elements. Based on the observed conditions and
discussions with Mr. Pydnkowski standing groundwater is approximately 4-in. above the prepared subgrade. For
waterproofing design for the elevator pit, GSI recommends the design groundwater elevation be 18-in. above the elevator
pit foundation subgrade. Foundation design recommendations provided in the Geotechnical Investigation Report for this
project dated September 17, 2019 apply to the design for the elevator pit foundation elements.
