4. Remove gas grill from second floor porch.✓
5. Illegal limousine service from residential unit. ✓
6. Rear Porch and deck must be replaced at once, also new stairs.
7. Weeds and grass must cut and yard maintained.

immediately.

103.1 General: When the installation, extension, alteration or repair of an
elevator, moving stairway, mechanical equipment, refrigeration, air conditioning or
ventilating apparatus, plumbing, gas piping, electric wiring, heating system or any
other equipment is specifically controlled by the provisions of this code or the
approved rules, it shall be unlawful to use such equipment until a certificate of
approval has been issued therefor by the building official or other agency having
jurisdiction.
SECTION 104.0 MAINTENANCE
104.1 General: All buildings and structures and all parts thereof, both existing and
new, shall be maintained in a safe and sanitary condition. All service equipment,
means of egress, devices and safeguards which are required by this code in a
building or structure, or which were required by a previous statute in a building or
structure, when erected, altered or repaired, shall be maintained in good working
order.
104.2 Owner responsibility: The owner, as defined in Article 2, shall be
responsible for the safe and sanitary maintenance of the building or structure and
its exitway facilities at all times, unless otherwise specifically provided in this code.

Dear Mr. McIntire,
Acting on a complaint to this office of a possible violation, I
inspected the above referenced property on February 8, 1991. Upon
inspection of your property I found you in violation of the Mass
State Building Code, Section 104.0 ( maintenance ) .
You have loose slates on the edge of the roof, which should be re-
paired as soon as possible for the safety of the public. Failure to
comply will subject you to fines.

Dear Mr. Santo,
I'm writing to you about, what I consider, a dangerous
condition at 18 Juniper Avenue.
The house has a slate roof and several of the slates appear
to be loose. As a matter of fact, some are hanging off one
corner of the roof.
Since there are a lot of children in the neighborhood,
including his tenants, I'm afraid that these slates will, at
some point, fall and injure someone.
I'm thanking you, in advance, for your attention to this
matter.

This office has once again received complaints
concerning the above mentioned property as being illegally
used as a three ( 3 ) family dwelling.
You must cease and desist doing so at once , or file
papers with the City of Salem Board of Appeals to legalize
said unit .
Please contact this office upon receipt of this
letter to inform us as to your course of action in this
matter . Failure to do so within fifteen ( 15 ) days will
result in court action being taken against you.
