I have hired a carpenter to remove the old deck on my side and rebuild a new one He has suggested to me that we each build our own separate deck and the decks not be attached to each other. It will solve the problem in the future if a deck needs repair we each have our own. You can hire who ever you want to fix your side when and how you want. My carpenter will slice the deck in half and take down the deck on my side and rebuild it. Could you please let me know as soon as possible in writing if this solution is alright with you. You must cease & desist using this deck immediately, except for an emergency and have it repaired by a licensed contractor, or make out a home owners exempt form to do repairs . Please call this office upon receipt of this letter to inform us as to what course of action you will take to rectify this situation .
