notification.
There was only one sealed bid received which was $5901.00.
This bid exceeds the minimum assessed value.

Pursuant to Salem Code of Ordinances Section 2=1635(b),T am writing to seek approval ,
to direct the building inspector to sellahis parcel by sealed bid: Upon the"request of Ward
Four CityGouncilor Leonard O'Leary,both the City Planner and Director of Public
Works have determined that this,parcel is'undevelopable and is"no longer needed by the
city.
The parcel isonly 3;800 square feet and•.essentially landlocked behind the ramps to the
pedestrian'walkway over Highland Avenue to the -school, (See attached assessor's
MAP). At least one,neighbor has expressed interest in this property._Indeed;'he has
provided a survey of the property for this purpose. (See'attached). :The only condition I
'suggested was that there be a ten foot setback from the ramp in:the event that we need to
do repairs anytime in the future.
'Please declare said entire parcel surplus so that it may be put out for sealed bid. It may,
be appropriate to'also auction of the,remaining friarigular portion that has riot been
mcluded'within the area specifically requested. As required,we will have the,assessor's
office determine a minimum value for bidding purposes.
