My last correspondence with your office was on July 23rd. Mr. Babcock
did some work on the Utility Shed on the property. The tar paper hp
put on the top of the shed was blown off by the wind, Nothing has
been done on the side of the shed facing my property - 19 Union St.
There is a hole. Also, the door is being held by a nail and is open
at all times.
Would you dare recommend that he tear the entire shed down and buy a
ready made. He has six tenants and it's in constant use.
The next door neighbor who lives at 10 Herbert St. has become friendly
with some of the tenants and was told that the conditions in their
apartments is deplorable. Water leaking down the walls, etc. They
have spoken with the owner, however nothing has been done.
Your efforts are truly appreciated.

2. Overgrowth of grass and weeds should be cut.
3. Bird feeders should be arranged so that seeds cannot fall on the ground.
4. Food from vegetable gardens, fruit trees should not remain on the ground.
5. Pet owners should clean exterior,premises frequently.
6. Sink holes or burroughs around your property should be covered by solidly packed dirt
and monitored.
If rodent activity is noted on private property, the service of a licensed exterminator is
recommended.

SUBJECT: - Structure located at 10' Herbert St. , Salem
Dear Sir:
As a result of the complaint received by this department
an inspection was made of the subject building, resulting in
the following findings.
1. The three porches on the side of the building are
in an advanced state of deterioration and in the interest of
public safety they must be repaired or replaced immediately,
2. On the rear of the building is a new, partially built
two-story porch frame being constructed, without a permit. This

I have been in contact with Joanne Scott, Health Agent (copy of letter
attached) . She advised me that the matter has been turned over to you.
The owner has done some work on the top of the utility shed. However,
there is a hole in the side of the building. As you enter the yard,
the hole is on the right hand side of the building. Also, the door
on the shed has a nail to lock it. It is never locked.
We, in the neighborhood appreciate your help. These openings
encourage vermin, etc. and anything you can do will be greatly
appreciated.

This department has received complaints of rodent activity in your rubbish storage shed located
at 10 1/2 Herbert Street in Salem.
By adhering to the following guidelines,the food source will be eliminated and rodent activity
should cease.
1. All trash/garbage should be contained in rodent-proof, watertight containers with tight
fitting lids. This is of utmost importance.
2. Overgrowth of grass and weeds should be cut.
3. Bird feeders should be arranged so that seeds cannot fall on the ground.
4. Food from vegetable gardens, fruit trees should not remain on the ground.
5- Pet owners should clean exterior premises frequently.
6. Sink holes or burroughs around your property should be covered by solidly packed dirt
and monitored.
If rodent activity is noted on private property, the service of a licensed exterminator is
recommended.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
