Dear Mr. Young:
Your property located at 8 '/2 Herbert Street is in violation of Massachusetts State
Building Code 780 CMR, Section 1010.1, which references the number of exits required
for each unit. Peter Strout and I talked to you about the porch construction and the need
for a set of stairs several months ago. To date, nothing has been done.
Therefore, you are directed to obtain a building permit and construct the stairs within
thirty (30) days upon receipt of this letter.
Failure to do so will result in legal action being taken against you in Salem District Court.

Due to a complaint received through the Neighborhood Improvement
Committee hot line, I conducted an inspection of the above mentioned property
and found the following violations:
1. Siding missing on front of building allowing entry to small
animals. (Please repair)
2. Gutters need immediate attention.
Please notify this department within fifteen (15) days upon receipt of
this letter as to what course of action you will take to rectify these
violations. Failure to do so will result in legal action being taken against
you.
