Business(auto body work) uses are not allowed in an R-2 zone, thus in non-compliance with Section 3.0 of Zoning. The offender was told to cease and desist work immediately; the Salem Police Community Impact Unit was notified and would monitor the nomn-compliance later in the day. The landlord Linda Locke was also contacted regarding the violation on the property and address the situation with the tenant. Any questions please contact our office. Business uses are not allowed in an R-2 zone,thus in non-compliance with Section 3.0 of Zoning. Observations were made during the visit that a motor vehicle was being worked on by a person stating he was a tenant of the property and had been mechanically sanding the vehicle prior to my arrival. Said vehicle that was not registered to any persons residing at the property as stated by the tenant, he further noted that he had permission from the owner of the building to be doing the work. Said violation must be cease and desist immediately upon your receipt of this notice. Failure to do so may result in further actions being brought against you,up to and including fines and the filing of complaints at District Court. If you feel you are aggrieved by this order,your Appeal is to the Salem Zoning Board of Appeals. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
