On Monday, June 2, 2014 the complaint was investigated and it appears that you have a second shed attached to a separate (original) shed on said property, although further inspection is required. City of Salem Zoning regulation, 7-3 allows one shed maximum of 120 square feet or 1% of your lot area, whichever is larger. Sheds must be located 10 feet from the house and 5 feet from the side and rear lot lines, additionally sheds cannot be placed in the front yard setback. The wall is in serious disrepair and in danger of falling over and causing injury. The Mass State Building code 780 C.M.R- sections 103 require the owner of a property to maintain all systems in good working order. Therefore, you are directed to retain the services of a Licensed Engineer to oversee the removal of the existing wall and to design a code compliant "fix"to hold back the soils on your side of the property. Due to the fact that this is not a new issue, you are directed to begin work within 15 days of receipt of this order. If you feel you are aggrieved by this order, your Appeal is to the Board of Buildings,Regulations and Standards in Boston Mass. If you have any questions ,contact me directly. Failure to comply with this order will result in Municipal code fines and a Complaint Application being filed in Salem District Court.
