Dear Owner,
Recently our Department received a complaint regarding an accessory structure (shed) violation
on your property at 25 Gallows Hill Road. On Monday,June 2, 2014 the complaint was
investigated and it appears that you have a second shed attached to a separate (original) shed on
said property, although further inspection is required.
City of Salem Zoning regulation, 7-3 allows one shed maximum of 120 square feet or 1% of
your lot area, whichever is larger. Sheds must be located 10 feet from the house and 5 feet from
the side and rear lot lines, additionally sheds cannot be placed in the front yard setback.
It appears your shed is in violation of this section. You are directed to contact his office upon
receipt of this notice to arrange for an Inspection of this building.
