o Apply coat of Upol fiberglass past(exterior)and Fine Paints of Europe Dutch putty(interior);
sand to smooth.
o Apply black Hollandlac primer and paint to the exterior and white primer/BM Advanced to the
interior
• Repair rotted wood as needed
• All paint must be hand scraped due to Salem Health Department reg-ulations.
Non-applicable due to being in-kind painting and repairs*
*NOTE.- Historic materials and details must be retained and repaired except where material is not salvageable and
must be replaced. If replacement is necessary, new elements must replicate existing details, dimensions and
materials.Should an i,chan;-es to materials,design or outward appearance be determined necessary-.Applicant
must submit a new application for review.
There will be no changes in color, material,design,location or outward appearance. Non-applicable due to
being in-kind repair.
Upon completion of above work,please notify Historical Commission staff as final sign-off is required
to document compliance with this Certificate and approved plans.

commenced must be completed within one year from this date unless otherwise indicated.

any other necessary permits or approvals)prior to commencing work.

Description of Painting Work:
Front Side Only:
Scrape loose paint and then power wash front side.
Apply one coat of oil-based primer on body and trim.
Lightly sand and apply caulking and wood filler where needed.
Apply one coat of latex finish paint on trim and body.
All Materials are included.
Total Amount: $4,800.00
Note:
If there is any rotten wood that needs to be replaced we charge $40 per hour
plus materials.
Boston Door Restore

We hereby propose to furnish the materials and labor to restore the main front entry door.
• Remove and replace with temporary security door.
• Strip/extract the paint from both exterior/interior side of doors.
• Remove trim from all panels to check for dry rot and apply wood conditioner and wood hardeners
to affected areas.
• Make all necessary repairs; divots, holes, splints,etc.,with ABOTRON wood epoxy and alkyd
putty.
• Mend split panels with Steele joint fasteners.
• Coarse sand entire door and Skim coat the exterior side with UPOL fiberglass paste and interior
side with Fine Paints of Europe Dutch putty and sand both sides to a consistent sooth finish.
• Apply two (2)coats of black HOLLANDLAC primer to the exterior side and white primer to the
interior side.
• Apply three(3)coats of HOLLANDLAC finish paint to the exterior side and two(2) coats of BM
ADVANCED (hybrid alkyd/acrylic)on the interior side.
• Polish and install hardware.
All materials and labor are guaranteed to be as specified and the work is to be completed in a timely and
professional manner with a five(5)year guarantee against any failure of paint and structure for the sum
of, Four thousand two hundred dollars($4,200).
PAYMENT
• $2,100 to commence the project
$2,100 due upon delivery
