The 114 room luxury apartment" has also been advertised as an "in law apartment" . The realtor was called and advised us that there are 2 fully :applianced kitchens in this house . No notification of a variance to install this apartment with kitchen and bath appeared in the paper or was received by neighbors yet this was done by the current owner within the last year. In—law or luxury apartments are not part of the r-1 zoning structure. Without a variance how were the necessary plumbing and electrical permits obtained to perform this job? Also be advised that Mrs. Paradis on Puritan Rd has the same in-law set-up which is currently rented out. The Building Inspector had been advised of this situation when her ad appeared. in the News at least nine months ago yet this apartment is still rented out. He has not followed through on that complaint_ In that situation a zoning variance was denied. -- 2 - At the present time there are 4 unrelated males about to occupy 5 Gables Circle as rental income until the house is sold. They appear to be in their_ mid twenties and definitely not family types . Both pieces of property had the kitchens installed minus necessary permits and. against the zoning ordinance . Please be advised that R-1 zoning does not constitute rental income or property. I request that the Building Inspector follow both complaints through and do what,_ever is required to ensure that these rental properties are removed from R-1 zoning area. I am also requesting that he restrain the Realtor from advertising this property in this manner. As I see this the Tax Assessor should also be looking ,into the assessment on both pieces of property along with the Board of Health, Mr. Toomey if this was your neighborhood what whould you want done--to leave the situation alone or to retain the current R-1 status?
