Dear Al:
As per your request I have contacted City officials
concerning two issues in the Essex Court Project:
_ a) fire treated blocking requirements, and b) pool
drain line tie-ins. Regarding the first issue, Mr.
Bill Monroe of the Salem Building Department
informed me that we will need fire-treated blocking
only at the townhouse elevation along the 23 line,
at all openings and behind any trimwork. Other than
this area, the remainder of the project does not
require fire-treated blocking.
Regarding the second issue, Mr . Dennis Ross
(Plumbing Inspector) informed me that pool drain
line tie-ins will have to be made to storm lines
either at Church Street or in the courtyard. Bob
Carter of H . W. Moore confirmed this possibility and
suggested a tie-in be made to the courtyard drainage
system as this precludes the need for an additional
sump. An SK will be generated and forwarded to you
as soon as possible showing this new condition.
Sincerely,
VITOLS ASSOCIATES
