Violation(s) Based upon a tenant complaint,an inspection was conducted in accordance with Article II of the State Sanitary Code, 105 CMR 410.000. Upon inspection,the following were noted: 24-48 hours .180 1. Tenant had complaint of insufficient heat in her unit. At the time of inspection,the temperature in the front bedroom was recorded to be 66 degrees F. All habitable rooms must be able to maintain a temperature of 68 degrees F between 7am- 11 pm, and 64 degrees F between 11:01 pm-6:59am. Owner to investigate heating system and delivery to ensure the entire unit can be maintained at proper temperatures. Owner to correct this violation within 24-48 hours(maintenance was contacted at the time of inspection). 7 days .235 2. Thermostat in the unit is cracked and feels loose. Check and ensure thermostat is working properly and in good condition. Owner to correct this violation within 7 days. 24-48 hours .330 3. Smoke detector in back children's bedroom did not work when tested. Provide new batteries or a new unit so the smoke detector in this room is in working condition. Owner to correct this violation within 24-48 hours. 7 days .500 4. One window in the kitchen is screwed shut. Remove screws and repair this window to proper working condition. Owner to correct this violation within 7 days. 7 days .235 5. Bathroom sink is missing drain stopper. Replace drain stopper so sink is in full working condition. Owner to correct this violation within 7 days. 30 days City of Salem 6. There is no certificate of fitness on file for this unit.
