CITY OF SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS
Kimberley Driscoll
Mayor
August 11, 2008
Ms. Anne Bergstrom
I Friend Street
Salem, MA 01970
Dear Ms. Bergstrom:
I am writing you today to attempt to respond to your concerns relative to the
neighboring property at 103 Mason Street.
First, as you are probably already aware, the City's Animal Control Officer, Don
Famico removed the cat and took it to Northeast Animal Shelter for an exam, flea
medication, a blood test and any necessary shots. We hope that it will be adopted by a
responsible individual(s) who will care for the cat in an appropriate manner.
In addition, the unregistered vehicle was ticketed by the Police Department and, as
you probably have noticed the owners moved it into the driveway. Since then, the Building
Department has issued a citation for the illegal storage of an unregistered vehicle. My
understanding is that enforcement action will continue until the vehicle is removed once and
for all.
Lastly, according to the Building Department the owners have pulled a building
permit for exterior work on the house. For more information on this, please feel free to
contact the Building Department.
Again, thank you for contacting me with regard to this issue. If you have any further
comments please feel free to call me (978) 745-9595 ext. 5600.
Very truly yours,
J son Silva
