Mr. St. Pierre has observed that this trailer does not have electricity, running water or a septic system. In accordance with Massachusetts General Law c.111, s122 the Salem Board of Health determines that you are creating a public health nuisance. In accordance with Massachusetts General Law c.111, s123, you are ordered to cease occupying the trailer within 24 hours of receipt of this order. Failure to comply with this order may result in a penalty of one thousand dollars per day. Should you be aggrieved by this Order, you have the right to request a hearing before the Board of Health. However,you must appreciate the frustration that the neighborhood feels given that the fire occurred 10 months ago and literally nothing has been done to the house since then. The house and the property have been a mess for years; I'm sure your records will show numerous complaints about the waste in the yard. The mess is now compounded by the remains of the house, which is just frustrating and unnecessary to live with day in and day out. I hope the city will continue to attend to this situation, and urge the family to begin restoration efforts or sell the property to someone who can and will.
