Re: Board of Health Decision 1 Chanelle Circle
Dear Sir/Madam:
On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Salem Board of Health conducted a hearing at your request relative to
an appeal of a fine for the operation of an unregistered, uninspected short-term rental located at 1
Chanelle Circle.
At this meeting, you had the opportunity to be heard by the Board regarding why the fine should be
modified or rescinded.
After hearing all the evidence in this case, the Board of Health voted unanimously to uphold the order
and fine.
However, the Board voted to provide the following relief in their decision:
1. The penalty was adjusted to reflect a fine of$100.00 for the offense.
2. The penalty was adjusted to reflect a fine of$200.00 for the second offense.
3. The penalties for the remaining fifty-seven (57) offenses remained at $300.00 for a total
fine of$17,400.00.
The Board also voted to allow a payment plan for this penalty that will be addressed in a separate letter.
Therefore, the order is valid and the cease and desist order remains in place.
Your appeal of the Board's decision is to the Superior Court.
