Per the Demolition Delay Ordinance, the Commission made the following findings: 1) The Commission voted unanimously to find the building historically significant. 2) The Commission voted 6-1 to find the building not preferably preserved based on the architectural plans by Flow Design dated 1.23.2026 that preserve the façade and overall scale of the historic house. The Commission offers the following comments on the design of the subject renovation: • The applicant is encouraged to consider the following design options: o Removal of existing vinyl siding and restoration of original architectural features such as clapboards, cornerboards, and window and cornice trim. o Changes to rear addition that further distinguishes it from the historic house, e.g. setback from wall plane of main house; modification of addition’s gable roofline and shed dormers to ensure that new work is differentiated from the old. NOTE: A demolition permit must be applied for within 12 months of the issuance of this waiver. If a demolition permit application is not submitted, this waiver expires and a new application to waive the demolition delay must be submitted to the Historical Commission.
